Call for Artists - Black, Power & Black Panthers

Ends on

ARTE NOIR proudly presents the Central District Legacy—Black, Power, & Black Panthers Exhibition—a collection of visual narratives from African American (Black) and African artists who are skilled, creative, and gifted at illustrating and composing imaginative experiences around the theme. This exhibition aims to spotlight brilliant artists from the ARTE NOIR Artist Roster, as well as regional and national artists who can analyze and express their experiences through a critical lens.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM

EXHIBIT DATES: May 6, 2026, through August 2, 2026.

Call Type: Visual Art – Two-Dimensional (painting, drawing, photography, etchings, digital works, textiles, and mixed media).

Eligibility: Local, regional, and national African Americans (Black) and African artists from the diaspora, as well as ARTE NOIR Artist Roster Members.

Repeat Submissions: All previously selected artists from the 2025 Central District Legacy Exhibition will not be eligible for consideration in the 2026 exhibition. In an effort to expand the visibility, support, and network, ARTE NOIR encourages new artists to submit to this call. This effort is not intended to ignore, exclude, or overlook previously selected artists but rather to expand the opportunities for new creative voices to be experienced at ARTE NOIR. All CDL 2025 artists will be eligible for consideration for the 2027 CDL exhibition.
